Tour One: Lazio/Emilia Romagna/Veneto - Featuring 3 Stages of the Giro d’Italia
13th May – 26th May 2012
13th May – 26th May 2012
Fiuggi: 4 nights – 3 rides (13th May)

A great destination to spend a few days to get the travel out of your legs with its rolling hills and quiet roads. Some people ask me why Fiuggi? The answer is simple. This is Tuscany without the tourists and inflated prices. All in all, a hidden gem and a personal favourite. A bonus this year is the opportunity to watch a stage finish of the Giro Italia in the nearby town of Frosinone.
“If it was not for the fact that Eve is not here offering you an apple, you would thing you were in Earthly Paradise” ….Ferdinand Greforovius
Cesenatico: 5 nights – 4 rides (17th May)

From Fiuggi we transfer to Cesenatico which is located on the Adriatic coast and is the venue for the famous Nove Colli Granfondo. The Nove Colli Granfondo has a start list of 12,000 who roll off the start line in well organised groups. You have the choice at the 100km mark to complete the 135km event or continue on to legend status for the full 205kms. This event is the Queen of all Granfondos and will provide an experience not to be missed regardless if you are fast or slow. You can also visit the Granfondo Bike Expo the day before the event. Whilst in Cesenatico we will ride up to the principality of San Marino and take in the amazing views from the castle set high up on the mountain. Our hotel is located right on the beach so a quick dip is there for the taking after each ride.
Vittorio Veneto: 4 nights – 3 rides (22nd May)

Anyone who visits this region will immediately notice how cycling is a part of everyday life in the region of Veneto. It has all the character and architectural charm you would expect of Italy without the hoards of tourists. Away from traffic and noise we find a choice of challenging alpine passes or gentle roads through Prosseco and Cabernet vineyards. We also have the choice to watch 2 stages of the Giro d’Italia whilst in Vittorio Veneto one being a mountain stage in the Dolomites and the other in the nearby town of Treviso. There will also be the opportunity to visit the famous city of Venice and the Pinerello bike factory. This region offers some of the finest cycling in Europe. The amazing Dolomites await!
